THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE…

This blog has been a lifetime in the making. For as long as I can remember, I have been journaling. I started after reading a story about Anne Frank and learned that she and I shared the same birthday. I wanted to be just like her and write about my experiences.

My journals cover boys I liked in junior high, friend issues in high school, the semi-crazy college years and 20’s, then finally marriage and kids.

In the midst of the mundane, there have been quite a few miracles I have lived to tell about and I hope to be able to tell them here.

One of the biggest and most recent miracles was the birth of my 4th child, 2 years ago. When I was around 13 weeks pregnant, we were told that she had a 90% chance of being born with Down syndrome. Lucky us, she was.

While I was pregnant I told my doctor I felt like I had won the lottery, and I still feel like we did. It was a rough road at times (it still can be) but it was worth it.

I was blessed that I didn’t have to walk that journey alone and that made all the difference. In light of that, I want to be part of a community of people who are working out their faith while walking with God through suffering, and rejoicing.

I want to learn how to rejoice in the suffering, in the times of waiting and confusion, and help others do that too.

This blog will provide a place of encouragement for anyone who needs it. I will be open and honest about my experiences and tell those who need to hear it, that everything will be ok.

Questions are highly encouraged as well as prayer requests.

First and foremost, I’m a follower of Jesus who wants to share the joy and love given to me in circumstances far beyond my control. I’m also a homeschooling mom, wife and friend.

I’m still learning how all this works so please bear with me as I post and figure out what I’m really doing here.

However cheesy it sounds, I’m really just tired of hiding this little light of mine and I’m finally ready to let it shine.
